This year's Campaign Co-Chairs: The Van Dyke's
United Way of Mason County is pleased to announce that Dann and Julie Van Dyke have been named the 2018 Campaign Co-Chairs. The Van Dyke’s and a campaign cabinet of seven volunteers have set the 2018 campaign goal to be announced at a kickoff event on October 16, 2018 at the Maritime Museum.
The campaign cabinet exists to support the work and mission of Mason County United Way. Cabinet members fulfill this mission by carrying out traditional fundraising campaign activities within the local business community.
“I am honored and privileged to have the Van Dyke’s as this year’s campaign co-chairs. We are excited about what this year’s campaign will bring with their level of leadership and enthusiasm,” states Lynne Russell, United Way Executive Director.
The Van Dyke’s have lived in Mason County on Lost Lake in Custer since 2007 with their daughters Emily and Gracie. They are the owners of Cottage Works, providing a variety of services to cottage owners to allow them the opportunity to relax while up north. Services include building/renovation expertise, winterization, shrink wrapping, storage of boats, docks, lifts, seawalls, shoreline protection and much more. Cottage Works expanded to a 10-acre lot in 2017 where they added a huge selection of cottage décor, Polywood outdoor furniture and other lake toys. The expansion is now home to Foam Works, a business the Van Dyke’s launched in 2017 that provides spray foam and cellulose insulation service to West Michigan. Cottage Works celebrates 10-years of business with a full time staff of 14 and a loyal customer base of over 1,000 from Mason, Lake, Manistee and Oceana Counties and beyond.
“We are extremely humbled and honored to chair this year’s United Way campaign, it is just one small way to give back to those who make up this very special place we call home. We look forward to a success-filled year thanks to the incredible generosity of the people in our community.” – Julie and Dann Van Dyke.
